Pipe organ calendars
Pipe organ calendars
Organ calendars celebrate the beauty and majesty of these remarkable instruments. The variety of size, shape, design, colour and sound is endless and they make memorable images for a calendar sure to delight an music lover. With images from countries around the world, old and new, historic and little discovered, magnificent or charmingly small - organs come with infinite variety.
When I design my organ calendars, I look for images for two main reasons:1) images that make the viewer gasp with surprise or delight; and 2) images that have plenty of detail and interest that will give the viewer something to look at in the entire month they see the picture. Pipe organs very often have the "wow!" factor immediately, and the interest value is also high, especially for the fans. But sometimes I look for something a little extra, such as in the photo here of the cover of "Ceilings and Cases" - which was one of my new calendars for 2012 and has been added to in 2013 with Bavarian Ceilings and Cases, and Ceilings and Cases 2. More organs, more locations, more glorious views!
Pipe organs
Not the boring instruments some people would have you believe
It's bizarre - the pipe organ is the most diverse, one of the oldest, and most widespread, and most powerful instruments in the world - but people have been known to cringe and shy away from concerts. Why? Maybe there have been boring concerts which have put them off, or they simply imagine that this magnificent beast is just like the little harmonium that uncle Fred paddles away at, reluctantly, on Christmas morning in the tiny church on the prairies.
Not a bit of it - simply look at some of the pictures of organs in my calendars and you begin to understand that no two pipe organs are alike - and hence the fascination!
The 2013 range of organ calendars
We have a wonderful new range of organs in our new calendars for 2013! The very popular "Ceilings and Cases" calendars from past years has been added to with a stunning new calendar, with a cover image of Chester Cathedral organ seen looking upwards.
A second ceilings and cases calendar features the exuberant artwork and imagination of the baroque as found in many Bavarian churches and abbeys. Both organs and ceilings are a riot of fun and colour, which makes a calendar to uplift your spirits all year round.
Such super quality of print and organ facades that even the keenest organ buff would take many years to find! Some of the calendars also have vertical or horizontal formats so you can choose exactly the right version for your wall space.
Featured calendar - Bringing the images to life!
Organist of Chester Cathedral, Philip Rushworth, plays the Grand Organ which is featured on the cover of one of our new 2013 Ceilings and Cases organ calendars.
Organ playing is the manifestation of a will filled with the vision of eternity. Widor

Finale for trumpet and organ - Christchurch town hall, New Zealand
The Rieger organ in the Christchurch Town Hall was the cover organ for the very first of my pipe organ calendars, and can still be bought today as Pipe organ calendar #1 from www.organcalendars.com.
Here, Sarah Wilson on trumpet and Martin Setchell (organ) in a dazzling extract from Hans Hielscher's Sonatina for organ and Trumpet on the Rieger.
I'd love to hear from you if you enjoy my site. Also I welcome any ideas you might have for organs you would like to see featured or ways of displaying them, in my calendars.
